break in your wedding day shoes ahead of time (aint nobody got time for blisters)
go to bed early the night before so you’re well rested
keep your phones in your getaway car all day
have a wedding day coordinator (even if it’s just a friend or family member)
give your wedding photographer a list of “must have photos”
let everyone in your family photos know when to be & where
start your wedding day earlier than you think you’ll need to
have your dress hanging on a pretty hanger (avoid plastic ones!)
have your rings cleaned the week of the wedding
have a “details box” ready for your photographer (shoes, cologne, jewelry, invites, etc.)
write letters on your wedding day to each other
don’t do a first look (best tip anyone ever gave us on our wedding day)
do something in your ceremony that you’ve never seen or heard of before!
have eyelash extensions done the week of your wedding
surprise your bride/groom with a something special that they aren’t expecting
don’t forget to eat lunch on the day of your wedding
speak at your reception since you’ll probably never see all of these people together again
make sure you hire a videographer (if you’re on a budget, still reach out & see what can be done)
thank your parents before you leave
have snacks ready in the get away car
You might be thinking… MORE things to think about… geesh, planning a wedding is already enough work & now you’re telling me to do more? Well, what I’m not telling you is to overthink your flowers, spend a million hours planning out gifts for your bridal party and stress over your menu cards. When the special day ends, you’ll care about the memories and moments, not the mega impressive details that everyone forgets about. I promise you this from not only my experience as a bride myself but as someone who has been to over 100 weddings. Trust me.
